Biography
Jessica Doolin is a vibrant and dynamic hula hoop artist. Originally from Ireland, Jessica has travelled the globe undergoing specialised training in several prestigious acrobatic institutions. Her journey begun at Londons Aircraft Circus School where she developed her passion for performing. Eager to learn from the best she travelled to China for a year long intensive training program at the Beijing International Acrobatic School. Seeking to further diversify and enhance her skillset Jessica returned to China in 2016. This time she travelled to the legendary town of Wuqiao, famously known as 'the town where acrobatics were born'. Here she trained for a second year under the supervision of a highly skilled and talented mentor at the Wuqiao International Acrobatic Institution. After graduating Jessica's career took off following her debut performance at the Beijinger Reader Awards opening ceremony . She became instantly loved, captivating audiences with her unique style and quirky persona.
Jessica also is the creator and founder of My Bubble Bum, a small circus apparel clothing online shop, taking influences from the traditional circus background. Her main focus is to break the barriors of traditional circus clothing consisting of bright primary colors with clown like stripes, While drawing inspiration from our history and perception of “circus’. It is clear to her that traditional circus shows has declined and Contemporary circus has inclined massively, With all types of alternative performances that today we now consider ‘Modern Circus’. In todays fast paced world it is constantly innovating and her main goal is to keep up and reinvent circus clothing to be in line with the diversity of entertainment that is young, fresh and fashionable. Her core influences are a combination of the old and new, fusing Asian and Harajuku themes with current western trends to bring circus back to life with a more quirky and youthful twist.
